Bangkok (14th March 2024) Major Development PCL., the esteemed developer known for its high-end and pet family residences, would like to reiterate its leading status as a real estate developer that welcomes pets in every residential project with the introduction of “MAJOR Pet Family Residences: Exotic Pet.” This is Major Development’s pathfinding move to reach a new level of possibility as Major Development is becoming Thailand’s first real estate brand officially allowing homeowners to raise “Exotic Pets” at their premises. The project is going to be piloted at “METRIS District Ladprao” with a thoughtful construction from upstream to downstream—with examples like room layouts, shared facilities and support exotic pets—before expansion to every project in years to come. An expanded partnership with Thonglor Pet Hospital means every pet owned by residents of Major Development will be well taken care of when needed. With these latest brand movements, Major Development is now laying its pathway to be a real estate developer that “Creates with Purposes, Service with Attention, and Takes Care Like Family.”
Khun Petrada Poolvoralaks, CEO of Major Development PCL, began: “Over the past few years, the trend of rearing pets has changed significantly. According to TGM Research, 58% of respondents worldwide consider their pets as family members and 46% of them has only one pet. Surprisingly, Thailand has 73% of pet adoption rate which is higher than average and 45% of Thai families with pets have only one pet. Moreover, 23% of Thai families have two pets and 24% of Thai families with pets have more than four pets at their home. These figures prove that Thai families with pets and number of pets being raised by them are higher in percentage than global average. With our determination, we have set a new standard as Thailand’s first pet-friendly real estate developer through ‘MAJOR Pet Family Residences.’ Our initiative has greatly welcomed by residents—both with and without pets. The percentage of residents with pets have risen to 45% which is notably higher compared to 2022. If we look closer, many of our residents with pets are owners of exotic pets and the popularity is increasing. To meet with rising demands and trends, Major Development would like to expand our family to ‘MAJOR Pet Family Residences: Exotic Pet.’ We are the first real estate develop in Thailand that officially allows resident to raise exotic pets at our premises. Under this new initiative, Major Development is going to expand our operations in various areas including construction, activities for residents, and our managerial process. Starting off with construction of residential units and shared facilities, we are piloting our initiative at METRIS District Ladprao—with utmost attention in ‘Craft & Quality’ as well as ‘Pet-Friendly Functions’—to deliver quality of life and hygiene for pets. Our specifically designed Multi-Pet Playroom is a dedicated space for exotic pets and it was built based on a kind consultation of Thonglor Pet Hospital to make sure we truly understand nature of exotic pets and create functions that are matched with behaviors of these pets. We also expect to use our Multi-Pet Playroom as a blueprint for our future projects.
In terms of regulations and activities, we are going to expand our concept of ‘Petscape’ in many categories like types of pets, registration, use of public space, caring, etc. to properly welcome exotic pets and set proper, balanced guideline for residents with exotic pets, residents with other pets, and residents with no pets. Major Development is going to add exciting activities and privileges for residents with exotic pets in the future.”
Services and care for pets are essential aspects that cannot be leave out. Major Development and Thonglor Pet Hospital have formed a longstanding partnership as the hospital supports residents of Major Development in pet services and pet care. To match with this expansion, the partnership also covers exotic pets too. Krittika Chaisupattankul, D.V.M, Thonglor Pet Hospital’s Chair of the Executive Board, said: “Our hospital ฟaims to be a place ensuring all pets are in good health and wellbeing as we are certain that their owners truly think their pets are part of their families. This is a good opportunity to expand our partnership in pet caring with Major Development residents. Our Exotic Pet Care Center was recently opened as a cooperative center between Thonglor Pet Hospital—Thailand’s number 1 pet hospital—and an expert in exotic pet treatment like Animal Space Pet Hospital. The first branch of our new Exotic Pet Care Center at Thonglor Pet Hospital Rama 9 Branch is the largest referral center with service and treatment excellence as well as comprehensive equipment like MRI machine and CT scanner.”
Chaovapan Yinhanmongkol, D.V.M., Director of Animal Space Pet Hospital, added: “Owners of exotic or alternative pets like rabbits, squirrels, Guinea pigs, chinchillas, and many more can rely on our expertise and experiences of our vets and staffs on treatment for their adorable pets when needed. Nonetheless, those who are interested in rearing exotic pets must properly and adequately understand how to take a good care of these pets including daily nutrition and habitat. Most importantly, owner must be constantly aware of their love and responsibilities towards their pets—whatever they are.”
Khun Petrada concluded: “The launch of ‘MAJOR Pet Family Residences: Exotic Pet’ altogether with a milestone partnership between Major Development—No.1 Pet Family Residences—and Thonglor Pet Hospital—No.1 Pet Hospital—will be reflection of Major Development’s determination in our care and attention on insights of customers. From now on, Major Development would like to make a promise that we will continue to develop our future projects and maintain our vision based on a combination of ‘Lifescape’ and ‘Petscape’ strategies. We will ensure we always blend ‘Craft & Quality’ and ‘Pet-friendly Functions’ for happiness of residents and their pets forever.”
